The assignment was to drive interest in Clyde May’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey by telling the true story of moonshiner Clyde May and his passion and dedication to the craft. Our first ad for the brand was an opportunity the client had to run an ad in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
Now, Clyde was no ordinary moonshiner and he didn’t make anything you’d ever want to drink out of a bathtub. No, Clyde’s homebrew was legendary. Even the revenue agents who’d stop by now and then to bust up his still couldn’t bear to smash his elixir. They kept it for themselves.
